Not that it's a slow day or anything, cos I do have 4 manuscripts piled up to proof, but I'm supposed to stagger giving them to the other departments so that they don't get ambushed with a gazillion of manuscripts at once.

Couple that with the fact that I don't really feel like working, seeing as how I've passed 3 manuscripts through today, I'm reading Masak-Masak again.

'Again' because I stumbled upon this site a few days ago when I was looking up something for Novi when we were talking about food. And holy moly, what a site!!!! From all these years of being away, I had forgotten the vast variety of yummy AND gorgeous food we have back home. And lucky lucky me, I'll be able to eat all that and more in less than two months. My one worry now is that I won't have time to eat all that yummy food. How tragic will THAT be?

New Start.. and A Finish Challenge

As a result of the upcoming trip home, I have to do a mad scramble to start AND finish Floral Retreat for my mommy. She had picked this pattern out from a slew of patterns I sent her sometime last year, and I don't think she expects it as a gift when I head home in the summer, but boy, wouldn't she be surprised! Or at least I hope so... else, I'm taking it back!!! LOL.

Mellie and I were talking one day--our chats usually consist of ragging at the non-finishers (Yes! You know who you are and y'all better get stitching if you don't want to feel the sting of my whip! Mwa-hahaha.) and planning our finishes--and we decided that our next finish should be on June 20th. She's been having a hard time rotating between 3 pieces and I plain just haven't been stitching on any BAPs (Big Ass Projects) at all.

So we came up with a plan for hopefully 3 finishes PER person this year! ^.^ More notches on our pink jackets. Of course, if I could talk her into doing a blog with me, you'd see her WIPs too... but the woman says that takes away from her stitching time!! She's obsessed, I tell ya, OBSESSED! LOL!

First one up is Dimension's Floral Retreat for me, Chatelaine's Convent Herb Garden for Mel, and Dimension's Regal Tiger for A. Yes, A is in this too. Wouldn't have it any other way. Mwa-hahahaha!

Now, for the particulars:

Hewwwwo I'm Back!!!

Same old adage of me being scarce lately.... work... blah blah, tired... yada-yada. You know the drill, so let's just skip that and get into the fun stuff!!! :D

I'm going to have to do quite a few follow-up posts after this one in the next few days to catch up on all the happenings.... but the biggest news of late has been.... are you ready?

We got our green cards!!!! Whooop-dee-dooo!!!! Thank God! ^.^ After all the paperwork and countless phone calls back and forth, the approval notice came in the form of an email... wait.... 3 emails, sent 30 seconds apart. I guess they wanted to make sure we got the news. ;) "This is to inform you yada-yada.... you should be receiving your card within 30 days." The follow up emails (yes, 3 again) the next day notified us that the actual cards were sent out. WHOOT WHOOOT!!! All in all it took them 2 weeks after we resent the medical papers in for them to approve everything and send us our cards. God has truly been good. Everyone has prayed so hard for this. ^.^ My mom told me she was praying even in her dreams. Hehehe.

Once we got the cards in our eager little hands, I started making plans to get tickets for home and home we're heading!!! For 2 weeks in the summer. FOOOOOOD, GLORIOUS FOOOOD! That's all I'm really caring about atm. My mom has a list of my expected menu and I'm waffling back and forth about what my first meal is going to be. :D

As for the plane ride, we're flying Singapore Airlines, top-rate service in the flight industry. The kicker of course, is that our longest flight will be flying direct from Newark to Singapore on the way there and Singapore to LA on the way back, for a whopper of 18 1/2 hours EACH WAY!! Yeah, tell me about it. Not looking forward to it... but thoughts of food will sustain me (I hope). LOL!
